SMS Forwarder is made by Beijing Cat Ear Pointer Technology Co., Ltd. The app forwards text messages and verification codes from your phone to places you choose. This page explains what that involves.

What the app sends to our servers

• Text messages your phone receives: sender, message text, time and SIM slot. With "Only forward texts that contain a code" on, texts without a code are not sent.
• Codes from app notifications, only if you turn this on: the app name, notification title and text, and only for notifications that contain a verification code. Other notifications, including chats, are never sent.
• Device details: a device name, phone model and app version, so you can tell your phones apart.

There is no sign-up, so we don't collect your name, email or phone number. The app has no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking.

What it's used for

Only to deliver your messages to you: through the API, MCP, command line, and the webhook or group chat you set. We detect verification codes in messages automatically so they can be returned on their own. We don't read, sell, share or use your messages for anything else, including advertising or training AI models.

Where it's stored and for how long

Data is stored with Cloudflare (D1 database) and is encrypted in transit. Messages are deleted automatically after 7 days on the free plan (90 days on Pro). When you set a webhook or group chat, each message is also sent to that address, which is then governed by that service's own policy.

Deleting your data

• In the app: Settings, then Delete account and all data. Your account, API keys, phones and every stored message are deleted immediately.
• With your API key: DELETE https://api.smsforwarder.app/v1/account.
• Or email hi@maoertech.cn from anywhere and we'll delete it for you.

"Disconnect this phone" only stops that phone from forwarding; its past messages expire on the normal schedule.

Permissions

SMS access (RECEIVE_SMS) is used only to forward incoming texts as described above. Notification access is optional and used only for codes in notifications. The app can't send texts.

Children

SMS Forwarder is not directed at children under 13.
